Penarth


Penarth is a seaside resort a few miles west of Cardiff.

Penarth means 'Bear-head' in Welsh, and relates to the profile of the limestone cliff above the town.  It is a seaside resort a few miles to the west of Cardiff; and was a very popular destination in the Victorian period.  The pier was built in 1894 and is 658 feet long.  The pavilion was built in 1929.
